Joy is a funny thing. It feels wrong to be joyful when there are so many terrible things are happening around us. I even was a little reserved in adding this post today. However, it is finding joy in the hard times that gives us hope. I made the list to the right 4 years ago. The thing is that these things still make me happy. I took a picture on my phone to remind myself of the things that fuel me and bring a smile to my face. The things that allow me to let go of the stress in my shoulders. It reminds me of what I should be doing when I am feeling down or frustrated. I also wrote a list on my phone as a reminder as well. The list is as follows:
Joy List - May 2020
Mid Afternoon Naps
Music that tells a story - musicals included
Tea or coffee enjoyed slowly
Hot bath
Painting
Writing a note to a friend
Lotions with refreshing scents
A really good meal
Fresh peaches and sweet strawberries
Dressing up a casual outfit
The beach - sand between my toes and the sound of the churning waves
Curled up in blankets reading a book and contemplating
Eating a meal with my family and just discussing things
Writing
Nature
Crawling into the hammock outside around dusk
Heading out to find some joy at Micheal's today. I need some crafting in my life. :)
